Long Hair That Will Turn Heads!

Long Hair That Will Turn Heads!

I know as girls, we are all keen on having silky shiny long hair. Today I am gonna share with you guys long hair tips and tricks my mom shared with me that have helped me achieve a waist-length hair. So are you ready to make them go WOW?

  • Trimming – I can’t emphasise enough the importance of this step. Get your hair trimmed every 2-3 months. The more you follow this routine, the longer your hair will grow. Not only longer but also healthier. Consider why we trim our plants in the garden ? Same applies to your hair.
  • Oiling – Applying oil 2-3 hours before you shampoo is a good idea but applying it a night before you plan to shampoo is a better one. Leave the oil overnight and shampoo in the morning. This gives ample time for the hair to soak in the oil. Oiling not only gives essential nutrients to your hair but also forms a protective shield around your hair adding moisture and shine, and preventing hair from the usual wear and tear.
  • Shampoo and Conditioning – Shampoo twice a week. I wouldn’t recommend shampooing everyday as it strips away the natural oils that your scalp produces leaving the hair and the scalp too dry. Choose any shampoo as it just cleans and washes your hair. However, when picking a conditioner, pay attention to your hair type. Conditioning is the most important step as it nurtures and nourishes your hair whilst penetrating and sealing in the hair cuticles. Consider giving manure to plants after watering and trimming them? Yeah you got it right. .
  • Applying Henna – Put Henna once a month. With naturally nourishing properties, Henna can turn dry, damaged and unhealthy hair into silky, soft and manageable tresses. Avoid buying Henna that contains chemicals and hair colouring agents. They harm your hair more than doing any good. I will soon come up with a blog on how you can prepare henna mix at home.
  • Combing/brushing/detangling – Although there is no limit to the number of times you should be combing through your hair but I recommend it atleast thrice a day. Before going to bed, post your shower and once in the evening. Make sure you let your hair dry after before you comb as brushing wet hair leads to more hair fall and breakage. Also, tie your hair in a bun before you sleep. This will prevent it from getting tangled up.
  • Deep heat- A big NO NO! I know how we are all fond of hair straighteners and curlers as they add to the charm, however, I would recommend avoiding deep heat and harsh chemical treatments as much as you can. It attacks the hair cuticles, which then crack open and are lifted up causing the hair to become brittle and prone to breakage.

So that’s all for now. Follow the above routine as it has come from years of experience and let me know how it goes for you.

I wish you a hair that you wish! 🙂
